Color Trends 2009 from Weilburger Coatings

WEILBURGER Coatings are presenting color trends for the first time this year, with the launch of their Color Trends 2009 . Pascal Kaandorp takes us through the palettes (click on the pictures to see larger versions).

– Summer Blossom –

The pastel shades of blooming flowers and plants awaken the subdued scent of peaceful, softly glowing meadows or Alpine pastures. They appeal to a world of freedom and open spaces.

– Sensitive home Expressions –

We have brought nature’s colours to the things which surround us. The pastel shades of the morning dew,  misty sunlight, and cornflower blue are reflected in curtains, carpets, wallpaper and even in our food. In this way, space and freedom become safety and cherishing.

– Amazingly Livin’ Beauty –

The amazing beauty of nature’s entire spectrum of colours is either appealing or repellent, causes yearning or makes one even want to flee. Orange, melting into gold, or bright red in contrast with slate grey.

Colours distinguish us from our fellow men. The brighter they are, the more they distinguish us. An unprecedented range of fabrics and materials in indigo, dark blue, magenta and traffic-light colours such as red, orange and green quietly express our emotions and characterise us and our environment.

Young ferns trembling in the morning dew, fallen leaves, animals in hiding. Nature reflects the naturalness of birth, decline, love and fear, contained in such sensitive colours as pale green, sienna brown, vermilion and olive green.

The reflection of every-day life can be seen again in our cities. Suburbs flourish or fall into decay. Signs, walls and streets quietly reflect such subdued colours as grey-blue, salmon pink and terracotta in the unceasing motion of our existence.
