Tuktuk

Most of the time, the tuktuks are painted red. They are the best means of transport: more comfortable than a motorcycle and you still get the breeze, the red dust and the noise!

Angkor stone

nathalie.angkor
The red bricks constituting some of the most famous temples of Angkor are a nice contrast to the green moss covering the buildings after centuries.

Apsara

This celestial nymph shows some remnant of red paint.

Chilli

This red is hot!! Chillies are common in the Asian diet.

Beds and sofas

Cambodians use these decorated mats to sleep, to sit, to eat, to chat …

Khroma

red khroma small
This traditional piece of textile is worn as towel, as hat, as dress … During the Khmer rouge regime, all Cambodians were dressed in black with a red chequered khroma. It was the only colored part of the uniform. They use them to carry their lives about as well. The traditional khroma is red, but now you can find them in all kinds of colors.

National museum

A spectacular building in the Cambodian style houses the National Museum, where you find a lot of ancient statues. It’s also nice to walk around the flowered garden.

Orchids

Incredible orchids hanging down from the trees.

Red Earth

The earth is iron red. The Mekong river is red. And you are red after a motorcycle ride, covered from lungs to feet with the red dust of the track.
