The Guangzhou International Convention & Exhibition Center welcomes visitors to the annual CHINACOAT exhibition for coatings, printing inks and adhesives to be held from November 26 to 28. Since the launch of the exhibition in 1996, it has become a key event for suppliers of coatings, printing inks and adhesives who aim to enter, expand or consolidate their position in this market. It is one of the world’s largest coatings shows and last year attracted 616 exhibitors and 24,412 visitors – among them 2,800 visitors from overseas. The main target audience for this show are decision makers from China to Asia Pacific, Europe and the Middle East.

As the world’s second largest paint producer, China is set for continued growth given the continuing demand. Today the focus is on quality and paint manufacturers attend the show to find out more about today’s market needs as well as the opportunities and new technologies available to fulfill those needs.

The shows offers five exhibiting zones: International raw materials; International instrument, machinery & services; China raw materials zone; china instrument, machinery & service zone; Mixed exhibit zone.

The two-day conference being held in Chinese and English before the start of the show on November 24 and 25 deals this year with woodcoatings “formulating for a sustainable future”. The Fraunhofer Institute in Germany, one of the world’s most prestigious centers on wood research, will be making the keynote address that highlights current trends and future needs in research and design. Two workshops are also being held on the formulation of high value-added speciality coatings and inks and nano-technology for coatings and inks.

Ciba have a strong presence in China with both production facilities and technical labs, so naturally will be present at the show too. On display will be range of color-trend ideas plus mirror finish effects from the Ciba® XYMARA™ METASHEEN® range.
