Ciba invites you to come visit us at the European Coatings Show (March 31–April 2, 2009) in Nuremberg! We will be there in force, with a presence dedicated to “Making Things Better”: at Ciba, we are continuously creating, re-inventing and improving products to allow our customers also to make things better. At our stand (stand 557 in Hall 7), special emphasis will be placed on design and efficiency, colors and effects, and sustainability.

In the paints and coatings sector, Ciba is launching Ciba® XYMARA™ CarboProtect™, a unique new light stabilizer that significantly increases protection of carbon-fiber-reinforced materials, enhancing long-term stability and enabling greater versatility in application and design. Another innovation for paints and coatings applications, new Ciba® IRGAFLOW™ slip and leveling agents combine high performance with high efficiency.

Opaque brushed metal effects produced without the use of metal will be featured in the inks and printing sector. Ciba will also be introducing its new high-performance Ciba® EFKA® dispersants especially designed for ink-jet printing. A further highlight will be Ciba® XYMARA™ Quicksilver inks for gravure and screen printing, with their highly reflective mirror effects, outstanding adhesion and overall excellent performance.

Ciba will be showing a preview of its new edition of Color Trend Vision, a design and technology package developed to provide designers, converters, and paint, ink and masterbatch producers with global and regional color trend information, including new color areas attainable using new products from Ciba.
With its strengthened focus on adhesives and sealants, Ciba will be presenting its new Ciba® photolatent base (PLB) cure technology designed to improve production efficiency and product performance in reactive adhesive and sealant systems.

Better colors and effects
A new pigment for paints and coatings, Ciba® IRGAZIN® Solid Red combines excellent hiding power – especially in the critical saturated, yellowish red area – with high durability and color strength. For inks and printing applications, Ciba will be showing new stylings produced with the Ciba® XYMARA Nordic™ range of effects. Wherever adhesives and sealants are used, Ciba can help improve the look, performance and durability of the end product and, with its dedicated team, now offers customers one entry point for all of its broad offerings.

In the paints and coatings sector, Ciba is introducing three new EFKA® defoamers that widen application options in the fast-growing water-based area. The latest additions to the Ciba® UNISPERSE® Ultra range of water-based pigment dispersions will also be highlighted.
New in the inks and printing sector, Ciba® MICROLITH® Jet high-performance pigment preparations offer increased formulation flexibility in ink-jet applications and are highly compatible with UV-curing systems.
