By Ania Dardas Lovers of luxury should pencil in Monaco and the Grimaldi forum from October 23 to 26 inclusive – it’s time for the 20th annual European Luxe Pack exhibition that unites the key players in the luxury packaging industry.

What do they expect to find? Inspiration to increase and optimize their development potential, at the very least. Visitors represent leading European and international brands in the fields of cosmetics, perfume, wine & spirits and gourmet foods, among others. In Monaco, they will find exhibits, experts, presentations and lectures.

Last year’s launch of the Luxe Pack Trends & Market Observer proved to be a great success, not only outlining four major trends (light, warning, care and enchantment) but also conducting the first market survey of luxury packaging.

Among the lectures this year are tantalizing titles that include: Men and Luxury, Luxury as a Trendsetter, The New Luxury spirit, and Eco Echo, the Return of Sustainable Luxury. The Market and Trend Observer is also back, analysing and decoding current trends for its specialist public, always lively and creative in its presentation of the results.

An exhibition entitled ‘Alchemy: colour, matter and light’ focuses on the interaction between matter and color as well as how they are interpreted. The European Design Institute of Milan is contributing a retrospective of 10 exhibitors who have been present at each of the 20 Luxe Pack Monaco trade fairs and the international Pentawards packaging design competition will be making awards in the luxury category.

Last year’s event was attended by 5,590 visitors from 59 countries all seeking quality. Luxe Pack was able to offer its public top experts and designers as well as an in-depth picture of the market. And if networking is a factor, this is the show where 64% of the visitors are decision makers: CEOs, purchasing managers and marketing managers, among others.

It should come as no surprise that the Luxe Pack stable is expanding to include yet another member.

In addition to Monaco, New York, and Sao Paolo, the growing Asian market will now have its own trade fair, which is taking place from November 19 to 21 in Shanghai.
