For the 11^th year running, Blickfang, Switzerland’s biggest design fair, is showing the cream of Swiss design joined by talent from all over Europe from November 23 to 25 in Zurich. More than 220 furniture, jewelry and fashion designers will be unveiling their latest creations at the Kongresshaus. It is a treasure trove of all things beautiful and individual that can usually be purchased directly at the stand.

Jewelry at Blickfang

Blickfang is aimed at the general discerning public: anyone who interested in discovering independent labels and products. Last year more than 18,000 visitors came to Blickfang to get an overview of the contemporary design scene. Blickfang favors newcomers to the design scene, welcoming those who have never exhibited at Blickfang or whose work is less than two years old with vastly reduced exhibitor fees.

Fashion at Blickfang

Blickfang has a number of regular events and the fashion shows are an integral part of the fair. Talented local designers such as Tanja Klein (Klein Basel), visitors from Germany - Langhein Berlin - and Austria – Popular, as well as fashion from Sydney Australia are part of the catwalk sponsored by Comme des Garçons perfumes and organized by Sibylla Lustenberger.

Naturally there is also an award with design prizes in the gold, silver and bronze categories presented for the best creative achievements or interpretation of innovative ideas and concepts.

Furniture and jewelry at Blickfang

With the upcoming European Cup kicking off in June in Basel next year, a special project was created called 11 meter fashion: 11 fashion designers from Switzerland and Austria have been invited to present their styled version of the football influence. In Zurich we’ll be seeing the Austrian contribution.

It is an event not to be missed, not only because it is brings together so many beautiful objects and inspiration under one roof, but also because its timing, just before the holiday season, means that it is just the place to find unique gifts for special people.
