By Ania Dardas

It is the newest of the Labelexpo series of events and the largest in the region. Labelexpo Asia, taking place from November 28 to 30, 2007 in Shanghai was launched in 2003 and has grown exponentially ever since. This trade show is dedicated to the label, product decoration, web printing and converting industries and with the Chinese Olympics just round the corner, demand promises to be higher than ever.

This year the more than 12,000 visitors will enjoy a strong local Chinese presence of machinery and materials manufacturers, joined by many leading international suppliers. More than 350 exhibitors are expected at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre.

The show promises developments in technology including pressure-sensitive new materials (with a focus on the flexibility of film) as well as conductive inks. UV flexo and digital are expected to dominate the printing processes on show and there are also high added-value solutions to examine: from extended text solutions to foiling, new coatings and varnishes. Also on show will be innovative smart labels and RFID solutions and everything you need to know about maximizing service levels through supply chain management, flexible production and MIS systems.

This is the show that can help you, as an industry professional, to see new technology up close, find out how to improve supply chain management or discover ways of putting a more customer-oriented approach in place. Discover new niche markets, how to drive costs down while increasing profitability and flexibility. The opportunities are ready and available.

According to Roger Pellow, Managing Director of Labelexpo, “the greater Asian region has been one of the powerhouses behind the global growth of label materials and technology in recent years. China now accounts for over 14% of global label consumption and is still rapidly growing at up to 15% each year. Many major global suppliers have set up new and exciting partnerships here in china and our show will help many companies to research and identify new venture opportunities.”
