The spotlight is squarely on color at the 2008 Color Session being held for the second time from April 10 to 12 at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center – West 1 Hall, Japan. The show, which is organized by the Japan Fashion Association, is very sensibly divided into two sections: Color Design and Color Solution.
Color Design focuses on the colors themselves, highlighting those that are currently in the public eye or will soon be. It also looks at material. The thinking behind this is that color and materials are a principal differentiating factor that can give products what is often nowadays their only competitive edge. On show will be goods from the home and personal electronics sector, office equipment, IT equipment, interior products and furniture, cosmetics, food, packaging, fashion and textile goods, to name just a few
The Color Solution half of the show concentrates on the advanced technologies, materials and tools necessary to provide the colors and effects you’ve just seen in Color Design. You can get the latest information and data on pigments, dyestuffs and paint, all types of materials from plastic rubber and ceramics to metal, glass, building materials, textiles and leather as well as surface finishing technology. There will also be measuring instruments, representatives from the printing industry, color tools, software, and lighting experts, among others.
In addition to this broad ranging offer there will also be seminars that look at the way trends are developing. Networking is central to the event and the Asia color committee will be held in conjunction with the show in order to promote mutual exchange and understanding in this field throughout Asia.
