The National Association of Printing Ink Manufacturers (NAPIM) is no newcomer to the conference circuit. The 92nd NAPIM annual convention is taking place in Indian Wells California from April 11 to April 14 and this year’s theme is: grow, innovate and collaborate. This theme is no accident as the relationship between suppliers and customers is central to the healthy development of every field. The NAPIM President says: “I am concerned that there is not enough collaboration and exchange of information between suppliers and customers. Suppliers help the ink industry meet the needs of their customers and, in turn, the ink industry helps their customers. Everyone benefits from the exchange of information.” So this year’s convention will take a closer look at the relationship between suppliers and customers and how that relationship can be enhanced.

Gene Slowinski looks at the power of strategic alliances in his talk on “Implementing Open Innovation” while “What are the Drivers and Where are they Going” is a panel discussion with representatives from various print markets. There will be Bill Pope from the Flexographic Technical Association, Dale Aigner on commercial markets, Michael Robinson representing inkjet & screen, Marc Oosterlink on labelling, Michael Impastato on flexible packaging and Ken Norman on the corrugated market.

In addition to the discussions and presentations, there will also be the traditional awards reception and suppliers’ party as well as opportunities to network on the golf course in an atmosphere of friendly competition.
