Vanesa Fernández and Aldo Chaparro, Editors-in-chief of Celeste

By Oliver Spies

Aren‘t our color preferences always based on our childhood memories?

Vanesa, as editor in chief of Mexico‘s most successful fashion magazine, you deal daily with the emergence and development of new trends. Based on your experience, would you say that young Mexican designers are currently developing or following a trend in color?

Early childhood memories play an important role. Clear and unusual colors are permitted more often than before. Gendered color codes seem to be gradually disappearing. Men may wear “feminine“ colors.

And what would be your special current trend forecast“

Softly shaded or grayed colors will definitely be a topic, – dark blue has been absent for a long time ...
