With the force of a revelation and the thunder of an explosion of gleaming color never-before-seen, Ciba will launch its latest visual effect pigment into the world at 100% Design!
Ciba® XYMARA™ Fireball™ promises to be a new supernova in the starry firmament of effect pigments, pushing three-dimensional surfaces into the fourth dimension.
XYMARA™ Fireball™ creates surfaces with strength and depth, yet still aglow with secret fire. Around curved surfaces, deep red shades unfold into fiery gold and dark violets glint with coppery light. Yet this isn’t the flashy color-travel that you’ve seen before – that’s instantly kitsch and produces a headache to boot – but rather a slow burning effect, elegant, rich and solid, which still holds a discreet and subtle sparkle.
“With its subtle, harmonious color-travel effect, XYMARA™ Fireball™ highlights the shape of an object, enhances shade and design and can also be used to add an attractive sparkle,” says Tom Landuydt, of Ciba’s Coating Effects Segment.
As you can imagine, this unique effect pigment has a lot of high-end technology built in. Aside from the color-travel and sparkle effects, the pigment is durable, so it can be used for outdoor surfaces, especially automotive coatings, and other high-end uses, such as mobile phones and electronic devices. It’s transparent, so it can be used to create ever more innovative effects by shading other color and effect pigments. It’s versatile, and can be used in many paint systems, in printing inks and to mass-color many different types of plastics.
