Adding a new dimension to design: Ciba® XYMARA™ Satin Black Pearl

With its soft, dark, satin sheen, this new effect is as exclusive and unique as the pearl it is named after. Ciba® XYMARA™ Satin Black Pearl, which is to be launched at the European Coatings Show in Nuremberg (May 8-10, 2007), broadens design scope, adding depth, strength and definition, as well as imparting elegance and style, to a wide variety of different items. Shades of the night, mysterious deep waters and profound darkness are among the effects it can create. Used sparingly, it will emphasize other colors and provide a décor with strength and presence.
Ciba® XYMARA™ Satin Black Pearl enables designers, printers and converters to create new styling options and achieve original effects, and brand owners and retailers to differentiate and stand out in the market.
With its clean, soft black shade and just a hint of a shimmer, this new effect adds a striking touch to flexible packaging, labels and in-mold decorations, such as bicycle helmets and telephone fascias, and gives cosmetics packaging a sleek, elegant finish. Other applications include paper and film labels and decorative laminates for items such as furniture.
Highly versatile, Ciba® XYMARA™ Satin Black Pearl can be applied on its own or as a shading component in a wide range of ink systems. It is suitable for flexographic, gravure, screen and offset printing processes.
