Making metallic-mirror effects even easier to achieve: Ciba® XYMARA™ Quicksilver SF-02 ink

Cool, clean designs, emphasizing form and an attendant idea of simplicity, yet still combined with luxury, and with modernity and high-technology – a lot of associations rest on the liquid metal shoulders of “mirror” effects in design. We see chromes, as well as silvers, golds, bronzes and coppers growing in popularity in our environment – our furniture, our cars, our shops and supermarkets – and always as a sure eye-catching pointer to what’s new, what’s cutting-edge, what’s cool.

To make metallic effects even easier to achieve, Ciba is launching a new metallic ink, Ciba^® XYMARA™ Quicksilver SF-02, which can be printed to produce a perfect silver mirror effect. For luxury consumer goods like perfumes, fashion wear and spirits and other high quality displays, the new ink will add decorative effects for a wide variety of plastic substrates, especially as it can be combined with other Ciba pigment preparations or solvent soluble dyes to produce a whole spectrum of bright, colored metallic colors, including golds, bronzes and coppers.

XYMARA Quicksilver SF-02 is based on Ciba^® XYMARA™ METASHEEN^® vacuum metallized aluminium pigments, and has been developed for use in solvent-based flatbed screen printing presses, offering a combination of pinhole-free mirror effect with market-leading adhesion and press performance.
