| Dear Xymara Reader
The big news in this past month of big news was the launch of our
XYMARA™ Design Award.
With this award, we hope to engage with, encourage and nurture exciting, cutting-edge design from the next generation of designers everywhere! And, along with our sponsors - L'Oréal, Vodafone, Renolit, Material ConneXion and form magazine - we're offering a prize package which will give the shortlisted candidates and the winners maximum opportunities to show their talents and to learn and to develop their skills and experience, all culminating in a gala Award event in London, at 100% Design, in September! Let us know
if your design school would like to participate!
It was a big month for XYMARA; last week also saw the launch of the fourth issue of our
iF Award-winning
online design magazine,
INMYX.
With this issue, INMYX truly spans the globe, with features on trends and designers from around the world, from Los Angeles, to Brussels, to Seoul and back again to L.A.! INMYX is your guide to the labyrinthine world of contemporary art and design: what are the latest trends bubbling up from the underground? Who's making the most iconoclastic splash? Where's the best place to hang out after surfing? And what the heck are "Upcycling", tape-casting and "The Story of Stuff"??? Find it all out in INMYX!
Speaking of trends, we haven't lost sight of our homework for you! This month's exclusive Color Trend Research paper is about some intriguing trends in soft drinks … Find out all about the magic and mystery of colored organic waters here …
Events news: we had our biggest article ever last week, a whopping five pages, on the recent
Geneva Auto Salon,
featuring a review of the styling trends on display at the show. If you couldn't make the event, then our article should update you on all the trends - and more! Our
Fixed-gear: Maximal Reduction Minimal Boundaries exhibition,
which ran concurrently in L.A. and Berlin and featured many bikes which were styled with our Ciba® XYMARA™ effect pigments, was a great success. And look out for us at
interpack
in Düsseldorf - Ciba will be at stand E18 in Hall 10!
So, until we meet again, have a great month of design (perhaps we'll see you in
Milan?)
and please do continue to enjoy our world of effects and emotion at XYMARA.com!
