| Dear Xymara Reader
Just a few days to go and we'll be hosting the award presentation ceremony for our XYMARA™ Design Award at 100% Design in London! The award ceremony - kicking off with a keynote speech by internationally renowned designer Tom Dixon - is just one of many highlights for Ciba's presence at this year's100% Design (September 18-21, at the Earl's Court Exhibition Centre) - we'll also be doing a XYMARA™ Design Event, including a design panel discussion on materials selection; we'll be presenting new ways to use carbon fiber at 100% Design's Innovation Showcase; we'll be decorating the main 100% Design theater with our amazing and funky trend surfaces … find out everything we're doing and everywhere we'll be here. And if you haven't yet done so, save a place in our program for yourself by registering here.
On the trend research front, this month's Color Trend report is on adding value through surface decoration - with specific cases that make us think there's more to come! Meanwhile, in XYMARA.com, we investigated what's happening in carpeting - what are the latest developments in sustainability and color trends for carpets?
We've been speaking to whole boatloads of designers this past month, as ever trying to understand what inspires you and the design process steps you go through … Aside from Tom Dixon, we've also interviewed famed, maverick Dutch/Belgian duo Studio Job, lamp sculptor Alexandra Tsoukala, product designer Shahar Peleg, artist Marco Giollo again - he's created new works using XYMARA effects, which will also be on display at the "Ciba® XYMARA™ Theatre" at 100% Design in London - as well as graphic designers Mike Perry and Ben Schlitter.
Graphic design was also a main focus of our latest issue of INMYX, which, as usual, was packed to the brim with features and interviews and reports on the most cutting-edge designers, artists and trends.
And that's a wrap for the September newsletter … but hopefully not the end our interaction with you: we're looking forward to seeing you at 100% Design!
